Not everyone likes that in a woman

mansplained:

As an undergraduate in zoology, I worked in a research lab with a couple of other undergrads and two men who were completing their PhDs. Toward the end of my summer with them, one of the PhD candidates pulled me aside to let me know that, while he appreciated how direct I was in speaking to people, I should be careful because not everyone likes that in a woman.

I wasn’t sure whether to ask him if he thought being more oblique and deferential would help my job prospects, or if he really thought I hadn’t yet figured out for myself that some men are put off by my confidence.

Yeah, f-k that noise. Loud ladies for life.

I hope this the last remaining photos of our presidents

Is no one going to talk about Ronald McDonald fighting in Clinton’s background.

is Teddy Roosevelt shooting Bigfoot?

That one is historically accurate, actually.

Sometimes I look at things like these graphs and I think to myself that politicians really can make a difference and more often than not the difference they make is hurting people. And then I think about how all the money spent incarcerating people could have been spent in programs of social uplift and it’s really inexcusable.

Average cost of incarceration in California is $60,000 a year. We could be sending all of our prisoners to Harvard. Or hey, we could be sending underprivileged high school students to Harvard! But instead, we’ve got this.
